Webinar "Breath and Touch : the basis of the Inner/Outer continuum of our fundamental experience and how we meet the world and the world meets us"
Karen Studd
The actions of breathing and touching inform our experience of the Body as both the Content and Container of oneself. These two foundational actions are the basis of framing the Inner/Outer continuum we both experience and create. These actions are fundamental to our self-agency and interaction. Through breathing and touching we establish the boundaries defining ourselves in the world.

In this webinar I will outline how the Laban/Bartenieff Movement System (LBMS) addresses these fundamental actions. I will discuss how these actions contribute to our movement awareness through patterns of Duality which the system identifies. We will explore and discuss how this awareness can be instrumental in supporting a dynamic balance in the Body/Minds of Being and Doing. We will look at how this relates to Functional and Expressive capacity, how this contributes to our Mobility and Stability, and in how we phrase cycles of Exertion and Recuperation.

Webinar "Touch - an experiential session on the ‘intricacy’ of touch in DMT
Katy Dymoke
The two way membrane of the senses connects the attention of our perceptive senses to the external world and is innately receptive to types of information coming from that world –
THE SKIN, as a sense organ is of itself a membrane protecting the body and establishing a sense of a boundary of the self, and a sense of a whole body schema.
We will explore this tangible membrane and the intangible membranes of awareness that establish a space-time dimension to our presence in the world.
The transferential dynamic of touch awakens personal and professional beliefs that may actualise ethical dilemmas – professional issues.

Week 5
Thu November 4th
19.30-21.30 CET

Week 5
Thu November 4th
19.30-21.30 CET

Webinar "The concept of the membrane – an exploration of self ... "
Katy Dymoke
...and our experience as DMT deploying the membrane as a hermeneutic device – one that supports us to be reflexively aware of how our subjectivity can instil attitudes towards clients or other professional relationships.

We will study case load experiences from the point of view of being inside, on and outside of the therapeutic ‘container’ – giving examples from case load and interpersonal professional relationships that challenge the therapist self or personal self.
Can we work effectively through the screen – without touching each other?

The membrane can operate as a buffer zone, a place for healing, impermeable to threats, protective and of the trauma realm, until the cracks gently mend from the inside, amounting to greater motility, less fragility, and for change to initiate over time.
